Vendor Feature: Foxhill Cheese Market & Deli
If you’ve played tourist through Annapolis Valley, there’s a chance you’ve stopped at Foxhill Farm in Port Williams, Nova Scotia. Nestled on Foxhill Farm is Foxhill Cheese House, offering a look at how they make their cheeses, yogurts, gelato and pasteurized non-homogenized milk. It’s a beautiful experience, connecting us with how our food is made and appreciating local food producers.
But most of us don’t live in Port Williams, Nova Scotia.
Foxhill sold their products to the Halifax area at the Seaport Farmer’s Market before moving into a storefront on Robie Street in June 2017. This is when Aroma Maya and Foxhill Cheese officially met as we came on board as their coffee partner.
There’s many, many reasons to stop in to Foxhill Cheese Market & Deli (and they aren’t all about the coffee!), but I’ll give you three:
1. Did I mention they have a restaurant on site and serve breakfast and lunch? That would be enough for me to want to pop in, but it gets better! A lot of their food options are created by El Gallo Mexican Cuisine! For us, being able to taste some traditional Central American flavours is a huge draw. Oh! And remember the gelato I mentioned earlier? Yeah, they serve that too!
2. Their shop is like an adorable, always-open farmers market. They carry so many locally produced food products, including their own dairy products from Port Williams. The in-house deli is a nice touch! Seriously, like their FB page - they post about products and whatever is on at the restaurant. https://www.facebook.com/foxhillmarkerhalifax/
3. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Surprise! Like I said, Foxhill and Aroma Maya crossed paths while Foxhill was getting ready to open their Halifax location, and Aroma Maya came on board to be their coffee partner. Foxhill carries every roast and blend that we create, making them the perfect stop for trying a new coffee. On top of that, they are the only place in HRM that serves our coffee exclusively, making them the best place to try it!
Check them out!
